Glossybox US Unboxing and Review (November 2014)
Today I recieved my third and final (for now) Glossybox. I have plans to one day resubscribe when I have more of a disposable income but its goodbye to Glossybox for now and I'm sad to see it go. I filmed an unboxing video on my Youtube channel and I decided to save product reviews for this blog.
You can watch my Unboxing here and then read on to find out what I think about the products!
Product Review:
The first product I tried out was the OPI Nail Polish. It comes in a pretty pale pink color thats exclusive to Glossybox, called "Pink Outside the Glossybox". It took about five layers on my nails to be completely opaque but I think that's pretty normal for whiter nail polishes so I don't hold it against it.
The bottle was a full size product retailing at $9.50.
Next I was excited to try the Age Defy Moisturizer from Juice Beauty. I'm new to the world of nice moisturizers so I was really curious when I saw this product. I've only used it a few times so I can't really speak to long term results but as far as short term results go, I'd give this product a good review. It has a pleasant and fresh smell that I can't really place. The moisturizer is pretty fragrant so if you don't like the smell I can see the product not working out for you but I really liked it. I may purchase the full size if this sample continues to work as well as it has been.
This product was a sample size of .5 fl oz. The full size is 2 oz and retails for $45 so the sample size is worth about $11.25.
I love this product! It's the Instant Healthy Hair Treatment from 12 Benefits. I added a few sprays of this to my hair while it was dry just to experiment and I already see some results. I also LOVE the smell. Its a pretty sweet candy smell so I understand if people don't like it but I think it suits me. I look forward to using it more. I'm recovering from my pink hair days aka the summer of 2013 and this is one of the many products thats helping my hair as it heals.
This is a sample size product thats 1.5 oz. The full size product is 6 oz and that retails at $20 so this sample is worth about $5.
Next I experimented with the Lavender Herbal Bath oil from Kneipp. You can get 1-2 uses out of this sample, depending on the size of your bath. It has a pleasant smell and it was relaxing but I honestly can't tell you if it helped on a medicinal level. I have severe anxiety though so I'm never calm. It was very soothing though and the smell was great but not overpowering.
This is a sample size product that is .67 fl oz. The full size product is 3.38 fl oz and retails at $20 which means that this sample is worth about $3.96.
The fifth and final product is this blusher from So Susan. This is a brand thats new to me so I was pretty interested to try out this product. I was also intrigued that this is a universal blush: it apparently adapts to a variety of skin tones. The last time I tried a product that claimed to be universal was a BB cream that was two shades too dark and didn't adjust no matter what I did so I was apprehensive but I really liked it. I can't speak for everyone, obviously, but this did look good on my skin tone. The dark mauve/wine color actually looked good on my skin and I was surprised to notice that it actually smells pretty good too. Its definitely a turn off when makeup smells too artificial and like chemicals.
This is a full size product valued at $23.29.

So for those of you playing along at home, that makes the total value of this Glossybox about $53 dollars. As the cost of this subscription box was $21, shipping and handling included, I'd say that this is definitely worth it for any fan of high end beauty products.
If you want to try Glossybox for yourself, you can check it out at the link below. Full disclosure, the link is a referral link and while I don't make any money from it, I do get points if you purchase a subscription.
